That’s not only a catchy blog title, it’s my song for today. But fear not for I will not share here ‘Walk Like an Egyptian”. I do not intend to cause a Bangles epidemic. But, I have not decided whether or not ‘Eternal Flame’ will make my 2017 playlist.

I was listening to music at work; music being old as can be expected. Although I was not completely allergic to music past 2000, I remain loyal to the 90s and older. My son and his friends call them classic. I forgive them.

I am sure that there are other good people out there with me who cannot help but smile the moment we hear any of the 80s songs, and not only because of memories that the songs remind us of. These songs have catchy rhythms – dance rhythms, but non-slithering dance moves – AND words! Yes, back in the days, songs had words. Songs told stories. A good song will never compose only of the words. “Work, work, work!” repeated over and over, and some incomprehensible lyrics.

I’m not anti-Rihanna. I like tow of her old songs – Take a Bow and Unfaithful. I only wish she would put on clothes because she surely has a lot of money for clothing and a hot body isn’t reason enough for exhibitionism.

Oh well, let me leave Rihanna alone and listen to The Bangles… and not think about the boss that gives me grief.
