There are days when my muse sits with me as a best friend would. Yesterday was one of those days.

I sat back, closed my eyes for a few seconds, covered my face with my poncho for another second, moved forward closer to my laptop to open a blank Word document and started typing. I typed 137 words as fast as one who did advanced typing in college, pausing and thinking only for a total of 5 minutes, if at all. For the rest of the time, I was simply a typist.

Thus, this poem is raw, but not rough, I think. It is unedited. Yet, I feel that I can share it with you. I hope your hearts accepts it. 🙂

In acceptance of my uniqueness
The fact that I may not be normal
According to the society’s norm
Yet not totally different from others like me
Peace takes residence in my heart

In acceptance of my restless spirit
My big dreams, as mother calls them
Whether reachable or not
And aware of that reality
Peace stays in my heart

In acceptance of my craziness
My rebellious streak
And lack of desire to conform
But adhering to laws
There is peace in my heart

In acceptance of duality
Of life and everything in it
The yin and the yang in me
Nurturing the good, hopefully
Peace lingers in my heart

In acceptance of mysteries
And things beyond my control
Distinguishing them from others
Which I can change for the better
Peace and hope live on in my heart
