As I continue to journey through life, no matter how much practice I’ve had from countless yesterdays, I still find myself lost. If it’s inevitable, I don’t know for sure.
Uncertain and naive, I imagine a straight road to my destination. I stop dead in my tracks and gaze on the path ahead. Alas, not only do I encounter twists and turns, and hills and valleys, but bumps, too.
And, rocky roads…
Häagen-Dazs would be nice though.
I’m so not having a good writer’s day, to say the least. (And you’ve just read the proof of it!) It’s been awful. I wasted several writing hours today (and tonight; it is currently
21:30 00:18) because I have been stuck. I cannot seem to proceed… ice cream might be in order.
So… I’ve got my male character in the accident: an errant driver lost control of her SUV on the I-15 heading back to Los Angeles and pushed his Porsche 911 (or should it just be a Ford Mustang GT?) under a truck… although he did manage to swerve away a bit. He’s being airlifted to Cedars-Sinai. My protagonist is in McCarran International Airport, supposedly on her way back to her husband in New York, but… yes, her lover, her soulmate, could die from the accident (actually not as I am only giving him retrograde amnesia) so she is instead going to fly to Los Angeles… Then what?
I have researched the amnesia part but I am lost on the way to the amnesia. The problem is I have only been to Los Angeles once. I have not been to McCarran. I have not been to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. I don’t know about the paramedics and doctors in LA… I should probably watch some TV, even movies that don’t have Thor. I know that I can go back to the details after the first draft so I have time to go to the States. Should I just write anything until the story is flowing again?
My block is only on my romance novel… after 13,000 words. My NaNoWriMo project is still on track at 17,400 words and counting.
Maybe I’ll just keep reading this weekend. I could do one travel blog post, too.
At least I said no to casino tonight and hubby went alone. I wonder if T-Swift can stimulate my creative juices. Her music is way better than the Minecraft game music. (I do write where my little one is playing Minecraft. Haha!)
Have a great weekend to you all!
