My (City) Life

“H” is for “happens”…

(I started writing this when I was sick last month.)

Life happens… as life, for me, has always happened.

I do have an “H” for the A to Z Challenge but this intermission is happening.

(Obviously, I failed the A to Z Challenge. 2020 is another year.)

Despite my month-end processes and procedures that keeps me busy until I complete the consolidated management report around the 12th of the month, although the 10th would have been better, the 8th ideal, the A to Z challenge would not have been negatively affected. I was still hopeful I would catch up despite failing to do so the weekend of “F”.

However, I had to take a trip to Botswana for a long weekend. I had taken the Monday off.

I was still determined I could catch up.

Then, I got sick. I was already unwell the Friday before but I had to be a strong woman and with the help of Linctagon C and Super B, I managed Friday and completed my report at about 6pm. I thought it was only a mild flu. As it happened, I had a bad case of lower respiratory tract infection. I’m on the last day of antibiotics. You’d think being sick would be beneficial to writing or blogging! On the contrary, when you have fever, difficulty breathing (with a heart rate of over 100, bearing in mind I am not a child so normal would be around 70 for me), aches and pains, you really cannot do anything else but rest in bed, sleeping quite a bit.

I might have been a little lazy. Lethargy is an excuse, perhaps?

I have managed to watch (again) some Marvel movies in anticipation of Avengers: Endgame, which opens in cinemas on Friday, 26th of April. There is, of course, a premiere the day before but I was too late to get tickets for that one Thursday show.

Here are what I have re-watched in the last few days while resting in bed:

  • Doctor Strange (I know I shouldn’t have started with this)
  • Iron Man 1
  • Captain America: The First Avenger
  • The Avengers
  • Iron Man 3
  • Thor
  • Thor: The Dark World

It has been three weeks since my intention to write and publish this. I accept that I always allow life to happen. Always! Now, I seriously have to be deliberate and pause my main life (as it currently flows naturally) to hop on to my writing life until my life (as a whole) is fully integrated: job, social, home and writing harmoniously co-existing.

I managed to watch almost all twenty one MCU movies of the last eleven years, some for the second or third time, before Endgame opened in theatres worldwide. As of today, I have watched Avengers: Endgame twice, and I still hope to catch it on Imax for my third viewing. For a fan, as I am, it was most awesome. The energy in the cinema on opening night was amazing. The second time I watched was just as fantastic. I felt I was more in it. I cried more. It was more heart-wrenching, yet heartwarming.

I may have failed the A to Z Challenge this year, but my attempt provided me with blog topics, so I will proceed with the plan to write about my favorite stuff. I have a half-written blog post on “H”, so I will publish that first.

Congratulations to all who successfully completed the challenge! Well done! I admire you and your discipline!

I still fall, as I have fallen many times before, and as I have often done before, too, I get back up again. I am stubborn like that!

Have a wonderful weekend!

    1. Hello Valerie,
Thank you so much! I am much better, with only a trace left. Life, as much as it happens, must go on. We may not be on stage but the show must go on. We get back to work soon as our body allows us, as the bills don’t take a break. 🙂
      Take care always.
      Much love and hugs,
      Anne

I do appear to be on the lazy side reblogging my post from my other blog; I apologize.

When I fail, as I now failed to complete the A to Z Challenge 2019, I consider it a fall from which I can get back up… again and again.

I will continue to blog on places visited as planned, albeit outside of the challenge. I aim to complete to Z before this year ends.

“H” is for Hilton Grand Vacations Club on the Boulevard in Las Vegas. It shall follow soon.

In the meantime, enjoy visiting places near and far!
