Unseen

April 10, 2020April 19, 2020 Anne J.3 Comments

Often in the past I reveledIn the merriment of peopleIn a world filled with colorsBuzzing with cheers, laughter, chattersAnd I feared only what I could or might seeAround me, not too far ahead of meTill the year, the decade, as we know itBade farewell and the new is ushered inNow I dread the unseen, invisible…… Continue reading Unseen

I cannot pursue happiness

October 29, 2018September 19, 2019 Anne J.8 Comments

The more time I spend on social media, or out in the real world, the more I realize that happiness is an inside job. Well, true happiness, that is. (Please excuse me for using an old image. I’m recycling. 😀) Reality does not care if we like it or not; it is there, it is…… Continue reading I cannot pursue happiness

Know Thyself

July 29, 2018September 19, 2019 Anne J.7 Comments

The secret to happiness is in being authentic and living life according to your truth. When you are at peace because you are you, not what others want you to be, you have joy in your heart. That is happiness that’s not dependent on acquiring any wants. But, what if you are not quite sure…… Continue reading Know Thyself

No right or wrong emotion

February 10, 2018September 19, 2019 Anne J.11 Comments

Not everyone benefits from a happy person! Sometimes, a sad person is exactly what one needs. Simpatico, I suppose. (But always be yourself; you don’t need to be sad to be sympathetic.) I am a naturally cheerful soul. Fine, I’m goofy! I am convinced that it is my purpose on earth to spread the sunshine.…… Continue reading No right or wrong emotion

Family

People – in general, but especially work “bosses” – will not really care about you and your family. In fact, some might make you feel bad about your family and spending quality time with them. They will even want to take you away from them unnecessarily. Don’t let the insignificant take away your bliss and…… Continue reading Family

Have you ever

January 7, 2016February 5, 2016 Anne J.5 Comments

Have you ever felt love in your heart so much love that it feels so real you could almost touch it and your heart threatens to burst open? I have… I do! Have you ever experienced faith so much faith that the smile on your face cannot be erased and not a slightest doubt can…… Continue reading Have you ever

A bit about me

Anne J.

Anne J.

I'm a Philippine island girl in Africa, a Filipino-South African. A mad banana woman that I am, I live "la vida loca". The banana part isn’t only because I'm Anna (Banana) but because an old boyfriend had observed that although Asian (yellow on the outside) I'm very much Caucasian in my way of thinking (white in the inside) and my actions, too. It's a rather accurate observation. I am that liberal-thinking and modern-acting Filipino... I remain my tragic-comedic self with a day job in slightly more serious field of Finance, Business Operations and Corporate Affairs.
